Marissa Tafone
Marissa began her Pilates journey in 2023 as a humble Pilates student of Tetsuo Yoshida, one of the directors of the Pilates Haus, Senior Instructor and Teacher Trainer for the Classical Pilates USA Teacher Certification Program. Before she came to Pilates, Marissa had faced several health issues that made seemingly simple things like sitting or tying a shoe lace quite challenging. However, with consistent practice and under Tetsuo’s confident guidance, she noticed her posture and flexibility improved, her core became stronger, and she was able to move with less pain. This new freedom of movement enabled her to have more time for friends and family, travel to new places, and appreciate life more fully.
Having felt how Pilates had such a positive impact not only on her body, but also on her spirit, Marissa decided she wanted to share this experience with others. Marissa completed the Classical Pilates USA Teacher Certification Program at Pilates Haus, where she trained under Brett Howard, Director of Education and a second-generation teacher certified by Joseph Pilates’ protégé Romana Kryzanowska.
Marissa’s teaching style offers an encouraging and supportive atmosphere that helps clients to work on their alignment, flexibility and strength. She enjoys celebrating with students as they progress through the Classical Pilates Method and become stronger, stand taller and move through the world more easily.
