Andrea Mata
Andrea was introduced to Pilates in 2017 while searching for a different form of exercise that would help her improve her posture and flexibility due to her sedentary lifestyle working in front of the computer for long hours. She quickly became drawn to the orderly mat and apparatus work that had many benefits such as improving her posture and flexibility. The method also made her rethink movement patterns with the focus on strengthening the body uniformly. In her practice she gained the ability to keep her body healthy and her mind focused through a thoughtful process of movement patterns.
When the pandemic hit, it made her realize how important Pilates was for her in her personal and emotional life. During the lockdown, Andrea would practice her mat work every morning before starting her work and quickly noticed how centered and focused she felt after class. She had never experienced an exercise method with such a strong mind and body connection. She was fascinated and quickly decided to share her passion for Pilates by becoming an instructor.
Andrea is eager to help her clients of all ages and experience levels deepen their understanding of the Pilates method and find the connection to their mind and body.
In addition to teaching Pilates, Andrea is a Textile and Design professional. She holds a MS in Textile Design from Philadelphia University, now Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia PA.
