Michelle Meggelin
Michelle has always led a very active lifestyle. While attending LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts as a dance major, she was in search of a physical fitness system that would complement her extensive training. She was therefore introduced to the Pilates method. She immediately realized how much Pilates enhanced her dance training and noticed the benefits her practice was having on her own body. She admires the way Pilates balances gaining strength, control, and flexibility all within one session. She also credits her practice for rehabilitating previous injuries, while giving her the body awareness she needed to prevent future ones. Michelle went on to receive her BFA in Dance at Adelphi University while maintaining her Pilates training.
After graduating college, she became inspired to become an instructor and was eager to help others realize the true benefits that come with Pilates. Her goal as an instructor is to use the adaptability of Pilates to ensure that every session is completely personalized to enhance each individual’s daily life. She strives to help others become aware of their own bodies and to maximize each session as a way to challenge both the body and the mind.
Michelle was certified in 2021 by the United States Pilates Association™. She continues to train under Brett Howard, a Director of Education of the Classical Pilates USA Teacher Certification Program (formally the United States Pilates Association™) and a second generation teacher certified by Joseph Pilates’ protégé Romana Kryzanowska. She also trains with Tetsuo Yoshida, a 3rd generation teacher and a Teacher Trainer for the the Classical Pilates USA Teacher Certification Program.
Michelle continues to maintain her dance training in the New York/New Jersey area.
